It's the lengths the Western MSM go to to demonise Putin that has my attention. It's only superficially similar with Medvedev who, for my money, shows unmistakable signs of being something of a Western SIS 'asset'. His failure to veto the UNSC resolution on Libya was near unbelievable and Putin's response telling (though I guess the same could be said of China with it's vast Libyan investment that seems now to be at serious risk as a result) It has me concluding that Putin himself is regarded as a serious threat to Deep State interests in the West. His ruthlessly efficient halting of the looting under Yeltsin certainly deserves brownie points from the mass of the Russian population but it has made him some implacable (and very rich/powerful) enemies.

Beyond that I'm still baffled by Russia. It never ceases to amaze me the extent to which Western foreign policy establishments attack its government over all manner of things - and seem to get clean away with it too - when you consider the extent to which Western Europe is beholden to Russia for energy supplies. They clearly know something I can only have my suspicions about.

Interesting article. I have spent some time on Russian forums and from what I read, they like Putin a lot. He double crossed the Jewish Oligarchs as soon after Yeltsin appointed him to take over the Presidency. According to them he brought them justice and saved them from Khodorovsky, Borisovksy et. al. They likened him to FDR for rebuilding the middle class, and were calling Medvedev diminutive names. The difference between the owner of the Chelsea team is that his money stays in Russia and funds industry and he pays taxes.
